Keeping a portfolio up to date is a tiresome task (at least for me!). It’s easy to forget, and collecting all the information is always painful when it’s time to include new projects. The Portfolio Canvas came up due to my struggle to keep documentation and materials organised.
It started as a simple Google Docs where it’s possible to write project information. After that, I created Miro and Figma templates to make it easier to document images, and people can choose the platform they prefer. My favourite version is the Figma one because I organise all images and content, besides preparing the images to export to other media like the website or a PDF.
The templates are a guide and a facilitator to document information. I don’t discuss strategies to write or structure the content, but I gathered many tips and suggestions from design heads and leads that are used to review portfolios and hire professionals.
