Lote – A friend for parents and children

2018

⇠ Hyper Island projects

Lote was a project developed as one of the required tasks on the Hyper Island Business Developer program application. The main requirement for the project was to propose a digital solution for a user problem.

About the project

Lote was a project designed for parents and kids. It’s a bundle of soft toy and an app where parents can set some tasks for children, and children can receive these tasks, accomplish them, and receive some points. The main goal was to transform a dull and annoying moment (for parents: keep asking kids to pick up toys, or for kids: clean up the bedroom) into something fun.

The development process

The project was developed in one week.

The idea came up with my own experience as a mother, but not only. Speaking with other parents, I identified that it was a common pain for many others.

The solution was expected to meet some aspects in order to be successful:

  • Be attractive to children;
  • Easy to use for both kids and parents;
  • Simple interface, but fun and appealing;
  • Use a mechanism of engagement, like a gamification feature.

For the prototype, I built a bunny toy made of felt. The digital prototype was built on Sketch and Invision.
